Hot melt adhesive carbonization causes and avoidance measures
March 30 , 2023Everyone who uses a hot melt adhesive machine knows that there will be a layer of black material around the glue tank after the hot melt adhesive machine has been used for a long time. These are the carbides of the hot melt adhesive. How are these carbides formed? What should we do to avoid excessive carbides in hot melt adhesives? In fact, the generation of carbide mainly has the following points:
1. The temperature setting of the glue tank is too high. Some glue machines have been used for a long time, and there will be a temperature control failure. The actual temperature is lower than the displayed temperature, or the temperature is much higher than the control effect, causing the glue to be damaged, resulting in wire drawing. Without regular maintenance and maintenance, the glue will be carbonized, which will lead to blockage of the glue machine, hose and glue gun.
2. Carbonization of the glue layer on the surface of the hot melt glue tank
3. The thermal stability of the hot melt adhesive itself is not good
4. The hot melt adhesive is repeatedly heated in the glue tank for a long time
5. There are two different types of hot melt adhesives in the glue tank
In view of the above reasons, the following aspects need to be done in the daily use of glue to avoid the occurrence of carbonization:
1. The temperature of the glue is set according to the specified technical parameter value
2. When there are abnormal phenomena such as carbonization, check the difference between the temperature control and the actual temperature
3. The cover of the glue box should be closed at any time, so as to avoid contact between the high-temperature hot melt adhesive on the surface and fresh air, which will accelerate oxidation. The hot melt adhesive that has been heated repeatedly for a long time is best cleaned out and replaced with new glue.
4. Do not use two hot melt adhesives with different properties
